Every step. Every signature. On record.

Hotfire runs your test, build and inspection procedures on iPad. Readings are checked against limits as they're typed, each step is signed by the right person, and nobody can quietly change the record. It keeps working with no internet.

  1. 4.1Record LOX tank pressure

Read PT-101 after pressurization is stable.

psi Limits 280 to 320 psi
Technician J. Ortiz signs with a PIN
  2. 4.2Go / no-go pollHOLD

Test conductor polls every station. The run can't pass this point while a deviation is open.

  3. 4.3Arm igniter

Performed by the technician, witnessed by quality.

Locked until the hold is released
Audit trail, hash-chained

Try it: type a reading above 320 to see a deviation open. Example data; the real app runs on iPad.

Built for the test stand, not the boardroom

The discipline of a big procedure platform in an app your technicians can learn in an afternoon.

Hotfire on iPad running a battery pack receiving inspection: the current step asks for a lot number, the next for open-circuit voltage with limits of 44.4 to 50.4 volts, each with sign-off buttons.
A run in progress: the outline on the left, the current step highlighted, limits beside every reading.
    Run procedures
One scrolling page per run. Numbers, pass/fail, dropdowns and fillable tables, each checked against its limits. Timers, photos, comments, N/A and repeats.
    Sign with the right person
Performed, verified, witnessed and released, each by a different person with their own PIN or Face ID. One iPad can be shared by a whole crew.
    Change without losing control
Revisions go through draft, review and release, and authors can't approve their own work. Redlines during a run are approved by an engineer on the spot and carried into the next revision.
    Prove what happened
Out-of-limit readings open deviations automatically. Every action lands in a hash-chained audit trail. Part and serial history, with Excel and CSV import and export.

    How a run works

    1. Write and release

Build the procedure with steps, limits, holds and required signatures. A reviewer releases revision A.

    2. Run and record

Start a run against a serial number. Readings are checked as they're typed and steps are signed in order.

    3. Redline on the spot

Something's wrong in the procedure? The technician proposes a redline and the engineer approves it from their own iPad.

    4. Close with a record

Deviations are dispositioned, the run is closed, and the record is exported for the customer or the auditor.

The engineer approves. Every iPad updates.

iPads on the same Wi-Fi find each other and stay in sync. No server, no internet, nothing to install in your IT closet.

    • Signatures, redlines and approvals show up on every iPad in the room
    • Everything between iPads is encrypted with your team code
    • An iPad that was out at the stand catches up when it's back in range
    • Optional company server for off-site backup, when you want one
Three iPads, used by an engineer, a technician and quality, syncing directly over local Wi-Fi with no internet connection. Engineer Technician Quality Redline approved Same Wi-Fi, no internet connection

    Pay per iPad. Everyone signs.

Per-person pricing pushes teams to share logins, which defeats the audit trail. With Hotfire, every technician, inspector and witness gets their own sign-in at no extra cost.

    Education

Free for student teams (non-commercial, up to 3 iPads). University research labs get 50% off any plan.

    Apply for education pricing

Founding customers: the first 10 paying teams get 40% off their first year in exchange for feedback and a case study.

Prices in US dollars. Monthly billing costs 20% more. Setup help: we convert your existing paper procedures for $750 per 10, and remote training is $250 a session.

Hotfire is sold to organizations, not individuals. Licenses are bought from Tycho Systems by invoice or card, never inside the app. After you pay, we confirm your organization (as US export rules require) and email your license key within one business day.

What a team your size would pay

The leading procedure platforms price per person with a 10-person minimum. That works for a 200-person company and shuts out a 6-person one.

    Yearly cost for your team

Epsilon3 prices are from its public pricing page and its AWS Marketplace listing, checked 26 October 2026: Basic $100 and Pro $200 per user per month, billed yearly with a 10-user minimum (sold on AWS Marketplace as packs of 10 for $12,000 and $24,000 a year). Basic covers up to 50 users. View-only users are free there, so this compares only people who sign. Prices change; check epsilon3.io/pricing.

      • Epsilon3 Basic, 10 users$12,000
      • Epsilon3 Pro, 10 users$24,000
      • Most hardware teams are small.Drone makers, small space companies, test labs and university labs typically run 2 to 30 people. Many still run procedures on paper, Word or Excel.
      • Drones alone are a crowded field. The US Defense Department's Blue UAS list has more than 50 cleared drone platforms from over 30 makers, and each one runs acceptance tests and build records. DroneXL
      • Connectivity is the weak spot.Test stands, hangars, clean rooms and field sites often have poor Wi-Fi, and browser-based tools need a connection to start a run.

      Your procedures stay yours

By default your data never leaves your iPads. Nothing is sent to us.

      Encrypted on the iPad

Records are stored with AES-256 encryption, using a key held in the iPad's secure Keychain.

      Encrypted between iPads

Sync traffic is encrypted and authenticated with a key derived from your team code. iPads without it can't join or read anything.

      Tamper-evident record

Every action is chained to the one before it with SHA-256. An edited or deleted entry breaks the chain and shows up in the integrity check.

      Real signatures

Each person signs with their own PIN or Face ID. Repeated wrong PINs lock the account for longer each time.

      On your hardware if needed

Local mode and the on-site server keep controlled technical data inside your building.

Sold only in the US at launch

We screen every customer and never sell to sanctioned countries or parties.

Hotfire supports the practices behind AS9100, ISO/IEC 17025 and 21 CFR Part 11 (unique signatures, approvals and an audit trail), but it isn't certified or validated for any standard. Your quality system decides how you use it. An independent penetration test is planned before general release.

      TychoTycho Brahe, 1546 to 1601

Before the telescope existed, Tycho Brahe made the most precise astronomical measurements anyone had ever recorded, and he wrote every one of them down. After he died, Johannes Kepler used those records to work out that planets move in ellipses.

Tycho's work mattered because it was precise, recorded, and trustworthy enough for someone else to build on. That's what we build at Tycho Systems.

Hotfire is named for the most procedure-driven hour in engineering: an engine lit on the stand, everyone on the procedure, holds called, every reading recorded and every step signed. Most of your procedures are quieter than that. They deserve the same discipline.

      Questions

How do we get the app?

During the beta we invite your team through Apple's TestFlight. At launch, Hotfire is a free download on the App Store and is unlocked with your organization's license key.

Which iPads does it run on?

Any iPad that runs iPadOS 16 or later. A camera is needed only for photo steps, and Face ID or Touch ID is optional.

      Do we need internet?

No. Hotfire works fully offline, and iPads on the same Wi-Fi network sync with each other directly. The company server on the Business plan is optional, for off-site backup and multiple sites.

      How does licensing work?

Your organization buys a yearly license for a number of iPads. You get one license key; enter it on one iPad and team sync carries it to the rest. New iPads get a 30-day trial. If a license lapses, records stay readable and exportable, and runs already started can be finished.

Can I buy it for personal use?

No. Hotfire is sold only to companies, schools and other organizations, for their own staff and students.

Do you sell outside the United States?

At launch we sell to organizations in the United States only, and we'll add other countries after legal review. We never sell to countries or parties under US sanctions.

Is there a version for PC or Mac?

Not yet. Hotfire is built for iPad on the floor. A browser version for desks and offices is on our roadmap.

Can you bring in the procedures we already have?

Yes. Send us your procedures as Word, PDF or Excel files, or as an export from the procedure software you use now, and we'll convert them: $750 for up to 10, then $60 each. Founding customers get two converted free during the trial.
